Troubleshooting (MGT3192BU)” on November 7 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM.

Special Announcements Regarding Log Intelligence:

  1. Log Intelligence supports VMware Cloud on AWS NSX-T network packet logs
  2. Log Intelligence is integrated with Cloud Provider Hub (MSP 2.0)

In case you missed the announcements from VMworld US, you can read about it in my previous blog.

VMware Cloud on AWS NSX-T Network Packet Logs

Log Intelligence now provides unified visibility into VMware Cloud on AWS NSX-T network packet logs. With this
capability, customers can now analyze and trouble application flows through visibility into packets matching
specific NSX firewall rules. Benefits of this feature include the ability to:

Packet Log Benefits
1) Monitor Firewall Policy Usage
2) Analyze Application Traffic Patterns
3) Maintain Security

Firewall Logging enables customers to log packets for specific firewall rules. The captured packet logs help in
troubleshooting or security monitoring activities. Packet Logs are forwarded to the Log Intelligence service.
Firewall logging can be enabled for Compute and Management gateway, and Distributed Firewall rules.

Content for NSX-T Network Packet Logs

You can access dashboards for NSX-T network packet log content directly in Log Intelligence, providing you

Accessing Log Intelligence for VMware Cloud on AWS Customers

You can launch Log Intelligence directly from the Add-on tab within your VMware Cloud on AWS console.

Log Intelligence Integration with Cloud Provider Hub (MSP 2.0)

Multi-cloud opportunity and challenges open a brave new world where managed service providers, system integrators
and solution providers offer the skills, scale of operations and managed services that enterprises require in their
multi-cloud journey.

The Log Intelligence integration with Cloud Provider Hub aims to help customers in their multi-cloud journey. The
VMware Cloud Provider Hub is a centralized portal to enable the partners to transact, deploy and manage VMware XaaS
offerings.

VMware Cloud Provider Hub: Functional Overview
Manage Support Ticketing Raise support tickets with VMware on behalf of tenants
Manage Usage & Billing Generate & download usage reports broken by tenants and services
Manage Users and Roles View default Provider/Tenant user roles. Create, edit and delete Provider users and Tenant users
Deliver Asset Lite Services Publish, Subscribe, control service lifecycle. Manage tenant access to the provisioned services with
granular Role-based controls
Manage Tenant lifecycle Single pane view of tenants. Create, edit and delete tenant

Providers can configure the Log Intelligence service for centralized log collection for all tenants from all
deployment endpoints for a single pane of glass for log views, alerts, troubleshooting, and dashboards.

Provider can also configure Log Intelligence service to push tenant-only logs to tenants for, tenant-specific log
views, alerts, and dashboards.

Conclusion

Log Intelligence provides real-time visibility into VMware Cloud on AWS NSX-T network packet logs. Firewall Logging
allows customers to log packets for specific firewall rules to accelerate troubleshooting and maintain security.
Log Intelligence is now also integrated with the Cloud Provider Hub (MSP 2.0). Through this integration, providers
can configure the Log Intelligence service for centralized log collection for all tenants, from all deployment
endpoints, for a single pane of glass for log views, alerts, troubleshooting, and dashboards. Providers can also
configure Log Intelligence service to push tenant-only logs to tenants for, tenant-specific log views, alerts, and
dashboards.
