There are 23 sessions and ways in which you can learn more about some aspect of HCX, so how will you make your mark?

The Must-Attend Session:

HCX – Automating Workload Migration for Data Centers and Clouds [CNET2141BE]

Allwyn Sequeira, SVP & GM, Telco BU Products & HCSBU, VMware

Mark McGilly, Principal Software Engineer, Liberty IT

Take a deep dive into how VMware HCX simplifies workload migration and application mobility challenges within data centers and across clouds. HCX is a VMware service delivered to enable rapid vMotion, bulk migration of vSphere and non-vSphere workloads, high-throughput network extension, disaster recovery and additional hybrid scenarios with minimal retrofit/re-architecture. This session will cover the use of HCX to simplify the adoption of VMware Cloud on AWS, accelerating NSX-V to NSX-T transition to create hybrid disaster recovery models, lessons learned from a current customer, and much more.

Wed, 6 November | 12:30 – 13:30 | Hall 8.0, Room 27

Learn by Doing:

VMware HCX – Getting Started with Cross-Cloud Mobility [SPL-2081-01-HBD_E]

Self-Paced HOL, also available in expert-led form

VMware HCX provides a seamless method for extending on-premises vSphere environments into a public cloud. HCX includes vMotion, bulk migration, high throughput network extension, WAN optimization, traffic engineering, load balancing, automated VPN with strong encryption (Suite B) and secured data center interconnectivity with built-in hybrid abstraction and hybrid interconnects. Lab provides hybrid cloud infrastructure with an on-premises vSphere environment and cloud vSphere environment. It guides you to establish the state of hybridity and configure live migration and bulk migration of VMs.

Session for Best 80s References? Not Camp Nou or Camp Nowhere:

Workload Migration Techniques for On-Premises and Cloud Infrastructures [HBI1967BE]

William Lam, Staff Solution Architect, VMware

Emad Younis, Product Line Manager, VMware

In this session, we will take a look at different techniques on migrating workloads between on-premises data centers, on-premises to cloud, and cloud to cloud. Migration options can range from exporting a handful of workloads to migrating several terabytes of data to complete a data center evacuation in just a couple of weeks. We will also take a look at the pros and cons associated with each migration option.
