Stretched Clusters for VMware Cloud on AWS now available in AWS South America (Sao Paulo)

You can now use Stretched Clusters to achieve failure protection at the Availability Zone level in the AWS South America (Sao Paulo) Region. Learn more about this update to VMware Cloud on AWS. 

 

We are excited to announce that Stretched Clusters are now available for deployment in VMware Cloud on AWS SDDCs in the AWS South America (Sao Paulo) Region.

VMware Cloud on AWS delivers built-in infrastructure resiliency with failure protection at VM, host and AWS Availability Zone (AZ) level. Coupled with VMware Site Recovery, customers can also get AWS Region level protection.

The AZ-level protection is made possible thanks to Stretched Clusters for VMware Cloud on AWS. As a recap, Stretched Clusters facilitate zero RPO infrastructure availability for critical business applications. This enables you to failover workloads within a cluster that spans two AWS Availability Zones (AZs) with zero RPO. With Stretched Clusters, developers can focus on core application requirements and capabilities, instead of infrastructure availability.
